Sandra
Pratt

photo

Sandra Pratt's paintings - spare, yet complex - are intuitive and spontaneous. Drawn to the infinite possibilities of paint, she uses palette knife and broad brushstrokes to create a fresh vantage point of a familiar yet unidentified landscape, farmhouse in the distance or row of buildings. Forever a student of art, Pratt applies thick paint and blends edges using techniques she developed by studying the work of two immigrant masters, Nicolai Fechin and Sergei Bongart. A native of Chicago, Pratt lived in Colorado until recently when she moved with her family to Texas.
